Baptism Team

Duties: Married couples with children lead parents and godparents in group discussions about their faith journeys, the meaning of the sacrament of Baptism, and the critical role parents and godparents play in their children’s faith development.

Time: 1 or 2 times a year; includes two 2-hour sessions on two consecutive Sundays from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and an additional rehearsal after the second session. On the third consecutive Sunday couples assist the priest at three different Baptism ceremonies.

The ministry also requires some preparation time and initial and ongoing formation twice annually.

Special Skills: Hospitality, welcoming presence, faith sharing, small group facilitation, some knowledge of sacramental theology and liturgy.
