Shepherding for First Communion
Duties: Help to walk with the child and his or her family before and during the liturgy where they will receive the Sacrament for the first time; the purpose is to make the child and the family feel comfortable and confident with everything that is happening so that the liturgy goes smoothly. Training is provided.
Time: Rotating schedule based on the Mass you normally attend and the number of First Communions taking place at that Mass throughout the year
Special skills: Shepherding is a ministry of welcoming; it requires a desire to welcome the child into the experience of receiving Jesus for the first time
