About Snow Days...
Whatever Montgomery County schools decide to do – close, open late or close early – we will do.
As required by the Archdiocese of Washington, SJB follows Montgomery County school decisions when there is inclement weather.
We will post the news on our school website's Twitter feed as soon as we are alerted. The SJB Twitter box appears on the bottom of the website's front page. We will try to send a mass email/mass text as soon as we receive any alert that school will close early.
Parents Must Stay Informed – We ask that you make the effort to stay informed about the weather and the potential for school closings. I recommend Montgomery County's emergency weather text alerts. WTOP radio's school closings page is another good source.
If the county announces that the school day will end early, our school day will also end early. After-school activities and After Care will be cancelled. Parents who cannot pick up their own children should make other arrangements for them. We will never leave any child unsupervised, but I will dismiss the teachers so that they can go home – and pick up their own children, in some cases – safely.
SJB Website in Four Languages
Our school website can be viewed in languages other than English. The following links appear on the News page of our website:
We will have school on Inauguration Day. Each teacher will decide whether to let students watch the Inauguration as part of that day's lesson.
