Families, Please Complete Tuition Assistance Applications

Please take some time over the next two weeks to complete your family's tuition assistance application.

By applying for tuition assistance through the archdiocese, you also become eligible for tuition assistance from the parish.

Last year, $50,000 in tuition assistance went to 48 SJB students.

The archdiocese gave tuition assistance to 26 students. Each award was, on average, $950 and was applied to this year's tuition bill.

In addition, 22 students received $25,500 in tuition assistance through the parish. Eleven students received a total of $10,500 in tuition grants funded by the Home School Association, and 11 students received $15,500 in tuition assistance grants and named scholarships through the parish.

Almost all of the awards were based on need, so completion of the application is a requirement for receiving tuition assistance. The Dec. 2 deadline is a little more than two weeks away.

Here is the link to the archdiocese tuition assistance page:

Buddy Bench Is Here

A new white, wooden bench was dropped off on the top of the playground hill on Monday morning. Over the next week, students will paint the bench under the direction of Mrs. Leishearour art teacher,

When the paint is dry, our Buddy Bench will be put to use.

The Buddy Bench is where kids go if they have no one to play with. If a child is sitting on the bench, other children will know that they should ask the child to play with them.

The SJB Student Council came up with the idea for the Buddy Bench last year. The students heard that the Buddy Bench worked in other schools and agreed that it would be a good goal for the money they raised.

International Night is This Thursday at 6:30

International Night is one of our best events of the school year. It's an opportunity to celebrate all of the cultures that are represented in our school community. Many families set up stands with samples of food and culture from their countries of origin. Please see the Gold Folder page for the flyer.
