Principal's Note 6/8/17

Dear SJB Families,

Summer Forms have been posted on the website so that you can find them when you need them. Summer assignments and Summer supply lists are also posted for your convenience.

Summer forms and flyers were sent home in the Gold Folder. You can find digital copies of those forms and flyers on the website under Parents and Summer Lists & Forms.

A tentative calendar of school events is included in the Gold Folder. The school's Google Calendar, featured on the website, is the most up-to-date source of information.

The signed tuition letter is in the folder. The tuition letter appears at the bottom of this Note.

Here are the other forms in the Gold Folder:

Dear SJB Families,

The cost of attending St. John the Baptist Catholic School will increase by $200 for the 2017-18 school year. The tuition rates listed below have been set to cover the salaries and expenses necessary to operate our parish school.

K-8 Tuition 2017-18

Catholic Rate $7,950

Non-Catholic Rate $9,050

Pre-School Tuition 2017-18

Catholic Rate $8,200

Non-Catholic Rate $9,300

Credit for Multiple Children

Two children $1,200

Three children $3,200

Four Children $4,500

Archdiocese of Washington Catholic School Tuition Policies:

#4340 – Each Archdiocesan Catholic school shall establish only one tuition rate for Catholic parishioners in the Archdiocese of Washington, whether in-parish or out-of-parish, not to exceed the full cost per student.

#4230 – Parish tuition assistance shall be made available to families with demonstrated need for the second and subsequent children enrolled in the school.

Please remember that in order to receive the Catholic tuition rate, each family must complete and return a Parish Verification Form, which includes a check-box for parish assistance if it is available. We have received many forms already. If you are a member of a parish other than SJB, please remember to include a letter from your pastor or have your pastor sign the form. If you returned your form without your pastor’s signature, please send us a letter from your pastor so that you will receive the Catholic rate.

In the next few weeks, you should receive a proposed tuition agreement through TADS, our tuition management service, with the option of choosing one of several payment plans. I want to thank you in advance for your prompt response, for your support, and for entrusting SJB to be your partners in the education of your children.

Yours in Christ,

Rev. Y. David Brault
