Tuition Assistance Applications Are Now Open
All families are encouraged to apply for Archdiocesan tuition assistance. The Archdiocesan application is a requirement to be considered for parish tuition assistance.
Check the tuition assistance website for information, or log in to your TADS account and go to the Financial Aid tab. The deadline for completing the tuition assistance application is Dec. 6. Awards are announced in mid-March.
The applications are a requirement for SJB parish assistance, which is awarded in April and May.
Please Drive Slowly and Carefully in Our Neighborhood
Many families living in the neighborhood behind SJB have children who walk to and from school. It's important that we drive slowly on the neighborhood streets and that we pay attention and follow traffic signals, particularly Stop signs. They have been good neighbors to us, and we want to be good neighbors to them. Thank you for your cooperation and support.
Morning Drop Off Begins at 7:50 AM
Morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up procedures can be found on pages 5-6 of the Parent Handbook.
There is no supervision before 7:50 am. Children dropped off before 7:50 am will be sent to Morning Care.
During drop-off time, parents should stop along the gold line and let their children out of the passenger-side door. Parents may then exit SJB or park in the lot and walk up to join their children as they wait for the 8 am bell with their classmates. Children are not permitted to walk or run across the parking lot even if parents are watching them. Our procedures are designed for the safety of all children in our care.
Only parents of Pre-K children may drop off in the parking lot by the Lyon Center and Pre-K classroom.
Getting Virtus-Certified May Be Simpler Than You Thought
If you were certified before, you might need to get fingerprinted before January to stay certified.
Here is the fingerprinting registration form with the prefilled reference number for SJB.
Here are the available fingerprinting centers.
One fingerprinting center, American Identify Solutions (12501 Prosperity Drive), is just 2.7 miles, a 9-minute drive, from SJB. You can call 240.670.7952 and schedule your session or even drop in. Parents have reported back that the process took them less than 10 minutes.
For more information on becoming child-protection certified, please visit our volunteer page.
