Hispanic Heritage Month Activity at SJB
On Friday afternoon, SJB students made displays in recognition of the South American, Central American, or Caribbean country that their class represented for Hispanic Heritage Month country. Some students wore clothes or carried items representing the culture of the country they represented. Students toured the displays of other grades' countries to music from South America, Central America, and the Caribbean. Here's a brief video of how Hispanic Heritage Day looked and sounded at SJB.
SJB Open House Season Begins Wednesday
If you know a family that would make a good fit for SJB, tell them about our Open House from 8:30 am to 9:30 am on Wednesday, October 20. Families can go here to reserve a tour for the Open House. Here's the full Open House schedule.
Applications for 2021-22 to Open on November 1
Applications for the 2021-22 school year will open on November 1. The application link will appear on the SJB website on that day.
SJB families with children entering preschool are encouraged to apply early. Classes filled in just a few weeks last year. Applicants with siblings in the school are given priority consideration.
Although applications will open soon, admissions notices for applicants for grades 1-8 will begin to go out in January, after current SJB families have had the opportunity to register.
What About Students Already Enrolled?
If your child is already enrolled in SJB, there is no need to apply for 2022-23. However, you will need to register your child during the registration period of December 29 to January 25. See the returning students page.
Annual Update and Notice on Personal Safety Education Program
The vigilant work of teachers and staff to safeguard our students by promoting a safe environment is a priority at St. John the Baptist. All children have the right to be safe and protected from harm in school, home, neighborhoods, and communities. Our school is dedicated to promoting and ensuring the protection of all children.
Each school year, we are committed to the continued instruction of the Personal Safety Education Program for our children in grades K-8. These age-appropriate lessons, which will be taught during regular religion classes over the next month by religion teachers and reinforced by all teachers, prepare students to recognize and avoid potentially dangerous situations.
Thank you for your support and encouragement as we work together, family and school, to keep the safety and welfare of our students as our primary responsibility.
