St. John the Baptist will return to school in person on Monday, January 3.
While we recognize that COVID-19 case numbers have been rising, we have decided after careful consideration to re-open in person under our current safety rules and pandemic policies.
On Monday morning, we will talk directly with the students and review our rules on wearing proper face coverings, keeping our distance, and regular handwashing.
Families can support our SJB school community health by...
- continuing to report positive cases
- keeping children home if they have any symptoms of illness
- keeping children home if they have been in close contact with a person with COVID-19
If a child has a symptom of illness in school, we will call home and request that the child be picked up. While we think testing is a good idea, we aren't requiring test results for student return.
The SJB staff will be doing its part to model and enforce the safety rules and take daily temperature readings. All surfaces of the facility this week underwent electrostatic cleaning and anti-viral sealing.
The school will continue to monitor student and staff cases, community health data, the guidance of medical advisers, and the guidelines of the health department, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Thank you for your continued cooperation with our safety guidelines and your support for our SJB community.
We wish you and your families a Happy New Year!
Respectfully and Faithfully,
Brian Blomquist
Principal
