SJB Christmas Program is Thursday at 7 pm

The annual Christmas Show is set for Thursday night in the church at St. John the Baptist.

At 6:30 pm, the school doors will be opened, and students and teachers will gather in classrooms.

At 6:50 pm, teachers will lead students to the gym and line them up for their procession into the church.

At 7 pm, the show will begin.

At about 8 pm, after the show, families are invited for cookies in the gym.

Children in preschool to 3rd grade should be picked up from their classrooms. Children in upper grades may meet their parents in the gym.

Program Notes:

  • A rehearsal matinee performance, historically popular with grandparents, will begin in the church at 10:30 am on Thursday. Children should come to school in their regular uniforms for the matinee, but they should wear their costumes for the show on Thursday night.
  • A video of the Christmas show will be made available for free to all SJB families.
  • Dropping off a coat to reserve a seat in the church isn't an option. Unattended coats or belongings will be collected and hung up in the church closet.

Students To Attend Advent Christmas Mass Friday Morning

Mass will be celebrated at 10:45 am on Friday, Dec. 16, the last day of school before the Christmas break.

Gifts for Mary House To Be Presented at Las Posadas

Prayer Service is Wednesday Morning

Gifts for the Shower for Baby Jesus should be brought to school on Wednesday, when the 8th grade will lead the school in a Las Posadas prayer service and a collection of gifts for Mary House. Volunteer drivers will take the gifts to Mary House after school.

No After Care on Friday

Just a reminder that there's no SJB After Care on the last school day before Christmas Vacation, Easter Vacation, and Summer Vacation. There will be no After Care on Friday, Dec. 16.

Students To Visit Secret Santa Shop on Friday

Students in grades K-8 will visit the Secret Santa Shop with their classes on Friday afternoon. Each student will receive a complimentary $2 ticket so that every child can pick out a gift for a relative. Students will have the option of spending a little more for high-end items. Nothing in the shop will cost more than $6.

Please see the message from the Secret Santa Shop organizers.

Dear Families,

Thanks to everyone who donated to "stock the shop" this year! We are looking forward to a fun experience for the students on Friday. This is just a friendly reminder to please send your children to school with a few dollars to spend at the Secret Santa shop (no items in the shop will be priced above $6 and most will be in the $1-$2 range) on Friday.  They can just bring it with them to school. Additionally, every student will be given a ticket that is good for an item in the shop so that everyone can participate in the fun.

Finally, the organizers are still looking for a few volunteers to set up/ staff/ and break down the shop. You can sign up here.

Thank you,
Angie, Karen and Nickie (the Organizers)
