Please Vote To Approve The Ballot You Receive Today
Today we ask parents to vote for a proposal that is important to future of our school. The proposal to restructure our parent leadership organization is supported by me, our pastor (Father David), the Catholic Schools Office of the Archdiocese of Washington, the School Advisory Board and Home School Association.
If the proposal is approved, the School Advisory Board (school board) and Home School Association (H.S.A.) will be consolidated. The H.S.A. will become a part of the School Board, and the new School Board will begin to hold open monthly meetings in the library, where H.S.A. business will be among the topics discussed.
For several months, a group of parent leaders has worked with me on the restructuring plan. We created an email address to receive comments and questions, and we held two open meetings to receive parent feedback and answer questions. Some of the parent feedback we received (on the Treasurer's duties) was incorporated into the final version of the plan. Revisions of the plan have been posted on a designated website page.
The purpose of restructuring is to simplify, prioritize and clarify the roles of our parent volunteers and the school's fundraising goals.
About the Ballot & the Voting Process
In your child's Gold Folder, you will find an envelope and ballot. We ask that you read the ballot, mark your vote, place the ballot in the envelope, place the envelope in the Gold Folder and send it back to school with your child tomorrow.
As a reward for voting, your children will receive an out-of-uniform day. The votes must come back in envelopes so that we know which families voted.
Ballots will be separated from envelopes so that Student Council members can count them later this week. I will report the results to the Transition Committee and then to the school community.
Breakfast with Santa Gratitude
Thank you to all of the parents and children who came to Breakfast with Santa.
Thank you, most of all, to the parent volunteers who coordinated, planned, decorated, cooked, cleaned and otherwise worked so that everyone else could enjoy the wonderful morning.
