Thank You, Parent Leaders, for Breakfast with Santa

Middle-School Character Parade Students with Santa

Many families came to SJB's outside version of Breakfast with Santa on an unusually bright and warm December morning last Saturday. Parent organizers set up food, coffee, hot cocoa, tables and chairs. SJB was decked out from the Lyon Center parking lot to the school entrance, where Santa sat in his big chair and posed for pictures with families.

It was a wonderful opportunity for the SJB community to come together.

There are too many parent volunteers to thank by name here. Thank you to everyone who pitched in to set up, clean up, or help wherever there was a need. Thank you to the four dads who stayed late and put up the new basketball hoop. Thank you to the parent leaders of the Home School Association who planned, coordinated, and carried out a tremendous community-building and spirit-lifting event.

Here is a note of appreciation to the volunteers from the four Breakfast with Santa organizers: Mary Lombardo (Jonathan 7th, Theodore 4th), Jessie Fitzgerald (Conor 8th, Ronan 5th, Maeve 2nd), Jeanine Regan (Madelyn 6th), and Hilary Lappin (Colin 7th, Ava 5th):

Dear Families,

We just wanted to take a moment to say a huge "thank you!" Without your hard work on Friday night and Saturday, our Breakfast with Santa event just couldn't have happened. We think we can agree it was a great day, and our SJB families had a wonderful time together again. Whether setting up/breaking down tables and chairs, tickets & check-in, decorating, serving food, or taking pictures - this group is the reason that our BWS was a huge success. Thank you again on behalf of the BWS planning team!

Here's a little of what the day was like:

SJB Students to Celebrate Las Posadas on Thursday, Dec. 16

SJB students will come to the gym next week for a telling of the Christmas story.  For hundreds of years, actors in Mexico and Latin America have told the story of Joseph and Mary on their journey to find a place to stay before their baby Jesus was born. On Thursday, Dec. 16, older SJB student-actors will perform this traditional re-telling, Las Posadas, for younger students at the SJB stage.

SJB Band to Perform at 2 pm on Thursday, Dec. 16

Members of the SJB Band will play Christmas songs for the students at 2 pm on Thursday, Dec. 16. Band members will perform in grade-level ensembles for a mini Christmas concert. SJB will record a video of the performance and make it available to families.

Reminder to Parents: Order Main & Market Lunches by Wednesday, Dec. 15 -- The staff at Main & Market will be taking a break for the holidays. If you haven't seen the January menu and order form by next week, please check your inbox and junk folders for lunch order reminders from
