We Say Thank You to Our Parent Leaders
The school appreciates the volunteer service of our parents. We realize that we cannot thank everyone for everything that they do to support the school and help the children here, but we will try here to express our gratitude to those who served on school-parent leadership organizations and those who took lead roles in school events and activities.
On the last day of school, Friday, June 15, the SJB faculty will present our parent volunteers with small gifts of appreciation, and we will host a reception for our parent volunteers right after the 10 am Mass.
We hope that our parent volunteers will join us for the reception outside of the Library.
We realize that our way of saying thank you might seem small when some of you have given so much. Please know that our feeling of gratitude to you is truly great. Please know that your service improves the lives of the children at SJB and the life of our community.

Volunteer As a Room Parent for 2018-19
One great way to ease into a leadership role at SJB is by becoming a room parent. It's also one of the best ways to get to know other parents. To volunteer, complete the signup form. Contact our room parent coordinator, Jeanine Regan, at jeanine.regan@sjbsilverspring.org to let her know that you are interested in becoming a room parent.
Be a Buddy Family
Please see the flyer to sign up to be a Buddy Family. This is a great way to welcome and support a new SJB family. Thank you to Brian and Hilary Lappin (Colin 3rd, Ava 1st) for coordinating our Buddy Family program.
Field Day is Friday
It’s an SJB tradition for parents to meet at the top of the hill and cheer for the final event of the day: the 11th annual relay race around the field.
The big race will start sometime after 11 am, but the action begins at 8:30 am and takes place all day. Students should try to wear a T-shirt the color of their team.
Each team’s relay-race runners were selected by Ms. Krupka on the basis of their long-distance times in PE class.
Dismissal is 12 noon on Friday, and Monday is Memorial Day Holiday, which means no school on Monday.
Students should wear shorts, sneakers, sunscreen and hats. If a student brings a water bottle, it should be marked with his or her name, and still it will be the responsibility of each student to keep track of his or her water bottle.

Help Ms. Moore for Annual West Virginia Trip
Are you doing some spring cleaning? If so, Ms. Moore will be making her annual trip to West Virginia on June 2nd....earlier this year. She is happy to pass along to the families in Appalachia gently used baby and children's clothing, all sorts of linens (sheets, towels. blankets, pillows), household items and personal hygiene items (even travel sizes). The latter because the people are not permitted to use their food stamps for toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, etc. You may put your donations in the stairwell leading to the gym and Ms. Moore will check there each week. Please mark your bags WV. Donations are needed by the end of May. Thanks.
