Field Day is Friday, May 27
SJB students are divided into four teams and compete in all kinds of games and activities. The 8th grade students run the activities. The final event is the relay race starting at 11:15 am. It's a tradition for parents to come to the hill and and watch the children race around the field. Students will get Kona ice on their break.
Students should remember their team colors and active wear.
Noon Dismissal on Friday
Friday is a half day.
Field Day ends at 11:45 am, and 12 noon dismissal is shortly afterward. Parents who plan to stay for lunch on the picnic tables with their children should park on the side of the parking lot, not in the carpool lines.
Covid Cases on Rise
In the past week, there have positive cases in PreK, 1st grade, 4th grade, 6th grade, and 8th grade, as well as on the staff. Please remember that any child with symptoms of illness should stay home for the health of the school community. Until the end of the school year, we intend to follow our pandemic policy.
Prayers for Uvalde
For the Children and Teachers Killed at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas
Catholic Schools Secretary Kelly Branaman shared this prayer:
O Lord God, we come to You at this time of grief and ask that in Your grace,
You would shed Your peace and comfort to all who are mourning the sudden and unexpected loss of the children and teachers of Robb Elementary School in Texas.
Lighten our darkness, O Lord, and comfort our sorrowing hearts.
Pour your peace that surpasses all understanding into our hearts and shower the assurance of Your love on their families.
Lord, we do not grieve as those who have no hope, those who have not trusted in you our Savior, for our hope and trust is in You and our eyes are looking to You for strength, encouragement and comfort.
May those who lost their lives be one with you now in heaven.
Finally, we ask that you send the Holy Spirit to inspire all people toward the path of peace, and the realization that hatred and violence never solve issues.
Help us to live our lives as instruments of Your peace and mercy. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen
