We hope that many of you will join us for our annual May Crowning Service, which begins with a solemn, silent procession from the school around the parish center to the church. Our students should wear white or blue shirts with their regular uniforms.
Students in 1st grade may wear their PE uniforms with long pants and jackets. Students in 7th grade should wear their school uniforms and bring their PE uniforms. Students in 6th grade should wear their PE uniforms and bring their regular uniforms.
Students also should bring flowers to carry in the procession and to place on the church altar in Mary’s honor.
After the service, the flowers are taken to the school lobby and arranged in vases to create a Mary altar. We welcome parent volunteers who are willing to help with the placement of the flowers in the school lobby. Eighth grade pictures will take place before the May Crowning, around 9:30 AM, in front of the church.
Our May Crowners this year are Nicole Ionata (8th grade) and Isabella Golding (2nd grade).
Teacher Appreciation Week
Thank you, parents, for the generous and thoughtful gestures for our teachers during this Teacher Appreciation Week. There have been many supportive parent volunteers, and we thank them all. Our teachers appreciate your kindness and your recognition of their dedication more than you will ever know.

SJB Student Receives Writing Award
Emma Hickey, 8th grade, is one of seven Legacy Award essay winners. Emma's entry was selected from more than a thousand entries nationally, according to officials at the Legacy Project's Listen to a Life Story Contest. Emma's story, "The Ringing in My Ears," is based on her interview with David Wagoner, her grandfather, about his memory of the Vietnam War.

Help Ms. Moore for Annual West Virginia Trip
Are you doing some spring cleaning? If so, Ms. Moore will be making her annual trip to West Virginia on June 2nd....earlier this year. She is happy to pass along to the families in Appalachia gently used baby and children's clothing, all sorts of linens (sheets, towels. blankets, pillows), household items and personal hygiene items (even travel sizes). The latter because the people are not permitted to use their food stamps for toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, etc. You may put your donations in the stairwell leading to the gym and Ms. Moore will check there each week. Please mark your bags WV. Donations are needed by the end of May. Thanks.
