Masks

  • Individuals may wear a mask based on preference or risk-level


Individuals who Test Positive with COVID-19

  • Stay home for 5 days from start of symptoms or date of test, if asymptomatic
  • Return on Day 6 if symptoms have improved and no fever for at least 24 hours without medication
  • Wear a mask through Day 10
  • If unable to wear a mask,
  • Test on Day 5 or later and return Day 6 with a negative test
  • Stay home through Day 10


Individuals in Close Contact with Suspect COVID-19 (But No Symptoms)

  • May continue to attend school regardless of the vaccination status providing there are no symptoms.
  • Those who can wear a mask should do so for 10 days
  • Testing is recommended 2-5 days after exposure.



Individuals with COVID-19 Symptoms

  • Stay home and get tested.
  • If test is negative, return when symptoms have improved and not fever for at least 24 hours without medication.


Outbreaks

  • Universal contact tracing is no longer recommended but will be implemented during an outbreak.
  • Outbreaks required additional mitigation strategies.

Handwashing

  • Students disinfect or wash hands regularly. 

Surface Cleaning 

  • Disinfectant surface wipes are available in shared rooms.
  • Students have wipes for desks in classrooms.

Facility & Operations

Fresh Air

  • HVAC air filters are changed every 8 weeks.
  • Air purifiers operate in all rooms.

Surface Cleaning

  • Classrooms and bathrooms are cleaned professionally nightly.


School-Parent Partnership

Making Up School Work

  • Livestreaming during absence is not available. 
  • Families should communicate with child’s teacher about keeping up with assignments.
  • The policy on assignments after illness is on page 6 of the Handbook. 


Family Cooperation and Communication

  • Report Covid-19 cases to the principal right away. 
  • Keep child home if there are symptoms of illness.
  • Send child to school if fever free for 24 hours without fever medication.


School Cooperation and Communication

  • School consults with SJB nurse, pediatrician, and Archdiocesan health director
  • on health decisions. 
  • School consults with pastor, school board, and Archdiocese on program 
  • decisions.
  • School communicates with affected staff members for their protection and the 
  • health and safety of their students.
  • School communicates general information, not identities, about positive cases 
  • with affected classes
